Newbie here with a couple questions, so please be patient.

I've been shooting an Anderson Archery 58" 50# recurve that's about 20 years old and like it real well, however, for years I've wanted a Martin Savannah or Vision.

I a couple days, I'm going to trade in a Browning compound bow setup to the local sporting goods shop and order one of those Martins. I was going to order a Savannah in 45# (a little lighter than what I'm shooting now) because I'm 63 and trying to think ahead.

I'm thinking this bow will pull about the same as my recurve because the recurve is older. Is this true? Being it's a newer design and better materials, will the new bow shoot about the same speed as the older one?

The other concern is that all the arrows I have for the Anderson are spined at 55#-60# and shoot well. However, I don't thing the Savannah is quite as center shot as the recurve, and I'm wondering if I'm going to have to invest in more arrows.

Any advice or info you can share with me would be most appreciated.

I think a Savannah is a fine bow,I have one my self and a few other Martins. My Savannah is a smooth drawing bow with good speed and power.Try the arrows, they may work fine, the Martin uses a FF type modern string which usally requires a stiffer arrow. You never know until you try.The Anderson bow probably has a dacron string.

I agree with jry309.Spend one penny at a time.
Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.
