What kind of bow and poundage are you shooting? Sounds a lot like the arrow I use. Mike

A one-piece STEEL INSERT/BROADHEAD TAPER IS now available. You can find details on the following TG thread.

They not only increase arrow integrity, they will aid in getting higher FOC.

Here's a tip on adapters though: I turn my steel adapters down to the exact size they need to be per a specific ferrule. Grizzly ferrules are about the smallest of all the traditional heads. The steel adapters usually will not fit into the Grizzly's completely. I invert my high speed drill in my work bench vise and tighten the steel adapters directly into the chuck with the tapered end exposed. I then set the speed of the drill and run a mill bastard file over the insert to reduce it in diameter. Please wear safety goggles. What you get is a steel adapter that fits just flush with the rear of the broadhead and aligns itself perfectly! I can send pics if you are interested.

I have done the same thing to get the adaptor to seat better in those Grizzlies.I also put the grizzly in a vice, chuck the adapter in the drill and screw it into the Grizzly. This helps shape the Grizzly's ferrule which often is not concentric. It also sinks the adaptor about 1/16" farther than it would have gone by hand. This process makes tiny grooves inside the broadhead ferrule, also and that helps the glue bond even better. The broadhead will and adaptor will get hot so wear a glove when you first handle them.

I took some FMJ 400's from my unused wheel bow, stripped them, added wraps and 4" RW's.  Melted a 11/32 125 field point onto a 100 gr. steel bh adapter and took it outside with my 60 lb. Widow.  WOW!  Easily done, and without having to buy brass adapters.  I've started using the 11/32 100 gr. adapters and changing point weight with the glue-ons.  Very easy and cheap to tune from 200 to 300 grains up front.
