Was putting some new sealskin on my bow as a rest and got some barge cement on the shelf.......anyone know how to remove it?

Thanks,

David

Papa

I have just rubbed it off with my fingers in the past and have not had to use any chemicals on it.

I use Goo Gone to remove barge cement and adhesive rest residue, and a light wipe with acetone after I've removed the adhesive...

Just work it off with your finger.  It will come off looking like a booger.  No need for chemicals.

I do the same as stated, just rub it off with your thumb.Thats what I like about using Barge for my rests and side plate,it is not permanent, holds good but comes off easliy.

It's true that it basically rubs/rolls off with ease.  You can always clean any remaining residue off with a little denatured alcohol.

I think this is the first time the search function worked perfect for me. I took a leather wrap off of one of my bows, and wasn't sure of the best way to get the barge cement off. I thought before I open a new topic I would try the search function. Great information on this thread, couldn't have worked any better.

I have had simular experiences using search feature. Mostly "how to stuff".

Holm-Made

Use a rubber pencil eraser to rub it off.  I use the rubber block for cleaning my sanding belts.  Chad

If you don't like the booger feel, I 2nd Goo-Gone.
