Had a chance to do some pics. Shirts are S.Indian grey wool, and a nock off Army ACU top. Shirts are all for the most part in the middle of the frame, 1 close up, zoomed in, and 1, 25yd distance, unzoomed. Plus a few longer range, unsuspecting walk-ups. Looking into the dark forest from about 60 then 30yds.

Cool I had to go to the bottom to get a reference point.
Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.

I though I'd give marine MARPAT a try with the Army ACU. No snow.

straitera

Outstanding! Natural wool rocks!

Trad is 60% mental & about 40% mental.

Hard to find non snow but this dead brown pine branch blowdown should be a tough blend... but not really.
Coming up a trail, here I think the ACU is a bit better out in the open, behind cover there is no advantage.

swampthing

That ACU shirt is a couple years old and has really tanned, the Sleeping Indian wool is brand new and has not got dirty yet.

These were done with a pocket sized Digital camera so the lighting will appear a bit darker as the lens is about the size of a pencil eraser. Gray tends to wash out at a distance and does not give a high contrast up close either, neat stuff I'm happy with gray.

Turkey season is coming, I think I'll be all set with the grays. Have to wait till the buds and leaves come in for another test.

Gumby

Nice field test...makes you think about what really works.

I just bought two Polar Fleece at JCPen. and they were under ten dollars, gray and olive are my favorites for spring Turkey and early season archery.
