3 under or split finger?

I have a Zipper that is tillered split finger I think. I measured from the string to the top of riser and then the bottom of riser and I come up even. I was told by others at the archery shop that it was. I want to ship split finger to get a smoother release. Do I adjust the nock point higher or lower and what is a good 3 under tab?

Measure string to fade out perpendicular to the string. If they are both the same then that is even tiller and for thee under. On a TD I have found on the bows I have had the same is true measuring to the belly of the limb at the riser.

You can probably contact Zipper with the number on the bow and they can tell you how it is tillered and anything more you want to know about it.

I have been told and now I just read a book that says tiller is all personal preference. I even know a couple boyers that have told me they don't change tiller for their bows between 3 U and split. So shoot it how you want.

You said you want to shoot split for a smoother release, but you want to know what is a good 3 under tab?

Well anyway any tab will work 3 under. I use my split finger tabs to shoot 3 under. Cordovan tabs are great and I also like the BW/Wilson tabs.

the nocking point will be determined when you tune your arrows shooting 3 under will probable raise it a bit but again your arrows will determine that.

I use a big shot glove but have heard good reviews on the Black widow 3 under tab

I second that you should Contact Bill at Zipper bows he's a top guys and will take care of any questions you have about the bow.

Alaska Bow hunting Supply has a cordovan 3 under tab that you can trim to an exact fit and will stay slick and last your lifetime. The only tab I use.

I also love the Black Widow cordovan tabs. I have one that was made for split finger and one made for 3 under, that I have for backup. I have shot with the former one for many, many years. BTW, I shoot 3 under.

I do some of both. Right now I shoot the cleanest flying arrow 3 under, but my point on range is only 20 yd. or so. It is very accurate for short ranges. I like my longer point on shooting split, but I am having some problems with edge of shelf wear shooting split. I am trying to figure that one out. I also like my bow real quiet and split is better for that. You should try both to see what you like best. I think 3 under is better with short bows and longer draws.

I found I shoot more consistantly 3 under. I use a big shot glove.

Bateman makes a 3 under tab that is very good. Are you just starting to shoot 3 under? I think alot of fellas go to it after several years of experience.

Xtrema312 if your point on is 20 yards you can walk your face and find new anchors for other yardages. Its like playing a voilin and you can have multipal anchors. It has work for me for years. Now with my arrow weight I do chance to spilt finger for yardages over 50. I like a cordova tab and I cut out the middle makes a great 3 under tab. 20 yards for examlpe index finger cheek bone ring finger corner of mouth. 25 yards middle finger corner of mouth. 30 yards index finger corner of mouth and so on. I always find two anchor per spot and at first it my be hard to keep good form but after awhile it works awsome. Just a little food for thought it may work for longer shots for you.

Split finger only since I learned as a kid. 3-under might tempt me to sight down the arrow.

Due to my personal features I have to anchor thumb knuckle in back of jaw to get a full draw and proper form. However, with that anchor my fingers do not find the corner of my mouth, which is a soft anchor so not the best any way. I can't catch the eye tooth for a second anchor, or I would loose the string or have to turn my head into the sting too much. What works best is index finer on the top jaw line. I will probably try middle finger under the bottom jaw, but even that can move if you don't have your mouth close tight consistently. I am working with the feather to nose thing, but so far that is also kind of low. A 30-40 yd. point on just seem to work for me shooting split vision and semi-conscious gaping.

He is already sighting down the arrow. He just doesn't know it consciously. His brain is way ahead of him.

It is right there in front of you as is the bow and your arm. Your brain can't help but use those references.

I shoot a shot gun in a fast move, mount and shoot form. I don't even see the gun most times that I can recall, and I couldn't tell you the lead I use for a hit. My brain takes care of that stuff. It is smarter than I am if I just let it alone and don't try and out think it.

I know I sight down my arrow and that I don't do it with my subconscious. Now I shot instintive for years and harvest plenty if animals that way but this is what works for me now. On my LB or when I shoot moving tagets it is still instictive. It was a bad habit that I learned with wheels.Instinctive shooting has always been a short range game and it was the only way I could hold a group at 90 meters(targets not hunting). Possum2 I didn't find that tab yesterday but I am overhauling the hunting room today.
