How much of a difference would 25 more grains up front make as far as weakenin the spine.  Would that be enough to see a difference or would more weight be recquired to see a noticeable difference in arrow performance???

Hunter Smith.

BUCKY

it took me 50 grains to see a differance in my arrows.

Fletcher

It will depend on how close to the edge you are on spine.  I shoot woods and my experience is about like Bucky's, 1 lb for 10 grains.
Good judgement comes from experience.  Experience comes from bad judgement.

When I shot gold tips with the insert that took weights in the back end of it.  I always used weights in increments of 50Grs.  Less than that never seemed to make that much of a difference with me IMHO.

This is timely for me!  I just tuned a new RER Arroyo, with 125 gr field tips I saw a noticeable fishtail, but switched to 150gr and fly like darts.  Like Fletcher stated, I may be right on the edge of the correct spine, but with this bow/setup, it made all the difference in the world.  Just for reference:

RER arroyo 60#@28" (draw 28")
Beman 500  (7.3gr/lb) 29" (212gr)
8gr/" weight tube - 27" (216gr)
150 gr tip
total around 600gr or so
