Do wraps increase spin on carbon arrows. Seems like when I shoot arrows of the same kind, one with wraps and one without, the one with the wrap don't fly as good as the one without. Shows signs of being stiff. Have any of you experienced this or am I seeing things.

Adding weight to the rear will usally increase spine alittle. Most wraps weigh around 10-13 grs. depending on length and width.I tune my carbons with the wraps on and use wraps on all my carbons. It makes them so much easier to redo later and fletching glue sticks great.

If wraps alter your shooting, you are borderline over or under spine on your arrows to begin with.

Yep,  adding tapes or cresting to any arrow increases spine.  Any weight added to the tail of the arrow increases it's spine.  If you plan to use tapes you need to tune your arrows with the fletch on.

I agree with George but just tune with the wrap on. 10-13 for the wrap and 13 -15 for the fletch can add up.

Question how can adding weight to the rear of a arrow increase spine. I would think adding weight to either end would decrease spine ??? doesn't make sense to me.

raideranch

If the weight is in the front then that weight is additional force against the spine when the arrow is shot.  If its in the back the spine isn't feeling the weight.
