Snowy day fun

We have had a bit of serious winter already, and it is just Oct 10. We got about a foot of snow over the last couple of days, and temps have been in single digits and teens, so I have been a wimp and not chased any antelope, at least until this morning. I decided the odds were low that a goat was going to come into the house, so off I went to find one. It was 12 degrees according to my truck thermometer, but no wind, so actually a pretty nice day. I have been hunting a buck near my home all season, and he has been a thorn in my butt; I never can get close to him, either through my own stupidity or because his antelope eyes would bust me.
So today, I gear up in snow camo, and there he is, with about 20 does with him, but in an area with some timber, so I think there may be a chance. I got set up with some brush to conceal me, and here they come, at least the does do. I had a fawn at 10 yards, and some does within 15, but Mr. Buck stays a bit further out. Finally, I think he is in range, and I draw back and anchor, and as he steps clear of one of his girlfriends, I drop the string and watch the arrow fly just under him   :banghead: . Of course, the jig is now up, so they all run off to about 100 yards and stand and stare at me. So, after hunting this goat for many days, at least I got a shot.
The good part; while hunting, I saw about 50 antelope, 2 turkeys, around 60 whitetails, of which 2 were pretty good 4 by 4s. Plus, I still get to go back and try for the antelope again. Ain't bowhunting great?
