Ever ship bow to Australia?

I need some advice    .

A buyer down under wants me to ship a TD recurve bow to him, and I was wondering about shipping fees or any problems I might encounter.

I have shipped a couple there. TD is no problem USPS Priority International. Think the last one I shipped was around $50 with insurance. What is his name? Might check out ozbow site and see if anyone knows him.

I shipped a take down Black Widow.   Built it a light wood frame box covered with 1/8" ply.  You can see a picture of the box at:

I had no problems, just had to fill out the customs forms for the post office.  Package arrived perfect.

Not a problem to ship just about anywhere.  Try to know who you're dealing with, and use Paypal for payment.  There is an excellent shipping cost calculator on USPS.com that will tell you exactly what your cost would be.  Just measure and weigh the box (with the bow) and be sure to include insurance.  Package the bow well and it should travel just fine.  Really it isn't much different that shipping Priority here in the States other than having to fill out the customs declaration form.  Either way the box gets to go on a plane ride - just takes a little longer to get to OZ!

I shipped a 66" one pc longbow but it was costly! I think it was about $140.00 on ups, to large for usps to take. but I put it in a pvc tube and all went well.. delivered in less than a week. a TD recurve would be a breeze....

Contact wingnut from Dryad Bows. He shipped me a 66" bow from Texas using FEDEX and it cost me $75 I think.

I shipped a Black Widow PSAII w/ quiver and access to Austrailia earlier this spring. Cost was $76 from here to there USPS PRiority insured...

Where you run into problems is the size of the package. Some are too large for importation via the Royal Mail, so you have to ship via a private carrier. I shipped a one piece recurve by Fed Ex, and it cost $175.00. You shouldn't have any trouble with a takedown.

i have just bought a td recurve from louisiana and i think the shipping was $70-90us with usps international priority

highplains 68' one piece longbows mostly cost $100-120us to ship here t/d are about half as much and if the cost of the bow is more than $1000 australian you get hit with import duties as well. it's not cheap to buy stuff from the states let me tell you

I've had 5 bows shipped over to me in Australia. All were TD curves or Longbows, all shipped via USPS International priority and all cost between $40-$55US in shipping.

There's a length restriction of 42 inches when posting articles from the US to Australia by ordinary airmail. However, you can get around this restriction by sending the bow by International Priority mail. You are required to post the bow in a tube, as the length restriction then no longer applies. It's all laid out in the offical regulations.

International Priority paid mail is both fast and secure, as it's fully traceble and a signature is required upon delivery.
