making strings

Hi all
I was thinking about building my own strings and I will find a good video. I was curious as to how much string it takes to make a "string" should I start out with a couple 1/4 # spools of different colors.... How much do I need    ??

How often do you guys change strings and how many do you have for each bow?

I have a Lost Creek ariving soon with a spare string but I think I would enjoy making some of my own    
I have a Tradtech Pinnacle and  Hill Country Harvest Master to keep strung as well.

You can make several strings with a couple of 1/4# spools--I got 80 from a 1# spool of Dynaflight the one time I kept up with it.

I like to have two strings for my bow--one shooter, one shot-in for a back-up.  How often I change depends on how the string looks--usually once a year or so.

Two 1/4 lb spools of B50 will make a bunch of strings and teach you well.  You also won't have to hock the house to buy it.  Doin' the Twist dvd is a great training aid.  Have fun and show us some pics when you get them working.

You just got advice from the fella who made the best video I have seen on the subject. I just twisted up a mess of strings, trying to get them the right length. It is still a mystery to me, but eventually I get one the right length, and the video helped big time!
