New Morrison ILF

My new 54" Morrison ILF Carbon/Foam core longbow came in today as expected it looks and shoots great.I am reading up on setuping up a ILF bow so far I just set it up like Bob's instructions and it is shooting dead quiet and good FPS through my Chrony. The Riser is Bocote/Gaboon ebony and limbs are watersnake skins. I am about to go shoot some more right now!

I did alot of shooting this evening with my Favorite bow my Morrison 54" Cheyenne carbon/foam core recurve and the new 54" ILF carbon/foam core longbow both bows around 52lbs of draw weight. The new ILF is alittle more forgiveing to shoot to me, but the Cheyenne recurve is faster with bow noise real close to the same I really can't hear any difference and I have very good hearing.I played around with the tiller,brace height,and weight on the ILF and like the ability to tune/change weight on the ILF bow its pretty neat. I think I need to play alittle more with the brace height to get it perfect.

Ok I thought I would give alittle more feedback now that I have shot lots of arrows through the ILF. First I have played with the tiller,brace height,and draw weight till I have reached the point where the bow seems setup perfect now.Its quiet,no hand shock,and very easy to shoot with accuracy. Overall all I can say is this bow shoots right there with the very best bows I have owned to date.To be honest I doubt I would have ever ordered a ILF bow if not for Bob I like the more classic look of the Cheyenne limb attachment vs the double bolt/tiller screw look of the ILF. Still if you talk with Bob enough he will sell you a ILF sooner or later just ask anyone who has broke down and ordered one.Now that I have one the ILF system is pretty neat and more usefull than I thought it would be.The limbs come off/on in just seconds no tools needed just unstring and pull them out.I can adjust mine from around 50 to 55 lbs of weight, and set the tiller for 3 under or split and still have a quiet bow. The only draw back I can see is I did have to play with the weight,tiller screws a few evenings till I got everything perfect now. The bow became quieter and quieter when these settings improved each evening.Now that everything is setup the limbs come on/off no readjusting needed.I am glad I ordered this bow I never really thought about buying any brand ILF bow before and it is a eye opener for me to the whole ILF system and what it has to offer.

whats ur brace heights?

My bow seems to shoot best around 7" brace. I have even shot it to 7.25" and still had good overall performance.The first Hour of the first day I had the bow I was geting some slap noise from the limb pocket area at arrow release and when I removed the string and slide the limbs in out one of the limbs locked in very tight and the other seemed loose which was causeing noise. I adjust the screw/bolt till it was solid restrung and all that noise was gone. This ILF thing is all new to me I am sure I still have many more tricks to learn about setting these ILF's up. I am sure I will end up owning a short set of ILF recurve limbs down the road also.

Nice bow. I have one with two sets of limbs and I can shoot a wide variety of arrow spines and and weight. From full length 500s to 31" 340s and even 300s if their tuned just right. It is a pretty neat system.
