I'm brand new to the trad scene and need some help.  I have a RH TD Great Plains Rio Bravo it is 62"AMO and 56lbs at 28 in. I have approx. 28 in draw.  I've seen some charts that might suggest 2016's.  I have also done the dynamic spine calculator which also suggest 2016's.  I'm just looking for feedback to see if I'm completely off with the 2016's, or if the 2016's sound good maybe some suggestions on namebrand and arrow setup.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Shaun

2016 may work but sounds weak to me for a 56# recurve if you are pulling most of 28". Try a 2018 cut 29" and a 145 grain tip.

I shoot 2016's out of my 49# recurve with 125 tips....sounds like it would be weak for 56#

2117 or 2018 if you have a true 28" draw

Like Shaun says, 2018, but don't be afraid to try 2117 or 2216, with a heavier point! I shoot 57lbs at 27" out of 62" recurve. Give em a try and Good shootin, Steve.

I have a similar situation - I shoot a 62" 55# at 30" and shoot a 2018 only I use a 125 head.

I accidentally bought some 2117s this weekend and they group a little bit better.

Don't be afraid to try the 2117 out of that bow. You may like the extra weight and spine. Besides the diameter they are extremely close in specs.
