I just came in from my 1/2hr bale work.
I did my blind bale shots and started my bridge,6th shot had a "less than perfect" (anchor creep)

Back to 10 ft, man 20 minutes of bale work is harsh.

I also had a string slap my chest, not as bad as some we saw lol, but it is a 1st for me, I think I was leaning my head back, trying to pull harder.

Bow is very quite and arrows are flying great, due to the increase of my draw length.

I am already feeling a better tempo to my shooting,
I did way to much flinging of arrows before Rods class, expecting improvement through repetition, (definition of crazy)

Taking my time and concentrating on no "less than perfect" shots has really made a start in improving my groups.

I made a couple errors letting an arrow go, when I knew I should of let down and started over on my shot sequence.

Kurt, sounds like you are being honest with yourself and are progressing.  I have to still remind myself to s-l-o-w d-o-w-n....haha I loved it when Rod would step up to a guy he was watching and put his hand on his shoulder and say in that soft and easy southern way, "How about if we just slow down a bit." haha   I have only got out to 10yds so far. I did cheat and go to 20yds. to see how I was shooting.  I have a 3D tournament this weekend and was needing to shoot a little farther back. Next week I'll start back at 5 yds.

Well, Blackhawk got me shooting an arrow every 45 seconds and guess what? No more shoulder pain after the 4th arrow ( Dislocated my bow arm shoulder a few yrs ago and it never healed right)...PR

Snag, I got to say the words "slow down" a bunch in Oregon ...entire dang bunch were in a big hurry to shoot!   :biglaugh:

My point has always been....how can anyone expect to shoot fast perfect shots, until they can shoot perfect shots however long they take.Once you have a solid shot sequence...you can shoot that sequence as fast as needed...when needed.

SHOOTO8S

Brian, if you can PM, me your #.

I've been watching some of the Video we shot and I think I may have another clue in the lip smacking mystery  :)

This weekend our trad. club hosted the Pope&Young 3D Shoot.  http://www.taoregon.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.py

With a lot of good natured ribbing going on it was a good environment to test out my shot sequence. It made a big difference to help me settle into the shot. Scored quite a bit higher than last year!

Poor ol Daisey was bit by a rattler tonite..
I was out setting up an Antelope blind on a water hole at midnite..
I only took about 5 minutes to set it up,, When i called for her she came back on 3 legs,, So i checked her out thinking i was going to pull a sticker out.. As i was looking for the sticker, her foot and leg started swelling up right before my eyes and in less than a minute it was more than twice the normal size and still swelling.  Got her to the vet about half hour later,,He confirmed it was a snake bite, So he gave her a  a few shots and said not to worry she would be fine..
I guess no more checking water holes in flip flops and shorts for me..

snag

Oh man, sorry to hear that James! Poor ol' gal. You got to teach her to JUST retrieve birds!   :D  I hope see is doing fine and that this experience will stop her from further interaction with snakes. Of course, at midnite maybe the snake was not rattling at her approach..??? She may have just stepped too close..???

Sure sorry to hear about Daisey, but know you will take care of her...and give her a hug from all of us.

Runamuk good thing you got Daisey to the vet on time especially being midnight, she is great dog.

runamuk

Thanks everybody she's doing fine ,, Her biggest worry right now is if she doesn't quit ripping
them horrible stinkers she is gonna have to set up camp in my shop for awhile..I guess the venom is effecting more than her leg..Her foot has swollen up bigger than a softball and looks like it is going to explode any second..
I have taken her in the past few years for anti venom boosters and the vet said that it would have been alot worse if i hadn't.. They are only 36.00 per year I highly recommend it for folks that hunt or live in snake country..
Lon,, she is getting plenty of hugs and attention, Some kids in the neighborhood have her all propped up on pillows and are spoiling her pretty good with some hot dogs..
Thanks all for your concern..

SHOOTO8S

Tyler sorry to hear about Daisey. I'm sure she will be ready to hang out with you soon.
