Gt 35/55 trad vs hunter spine?

I'm sure it's been asked before but do the Trads and XTs really both spine out @ .500 or is there a difference? I've got some Trads that shoot well but found some XTs @ a good price but don't want to waste the $ if they're not the same.

I did a search and found a thread called, Difference in 3555s same brand.  I was not involved in this thread so I can't give any opinion. They said the trads were weaker.  check it out.

i've tried all three, black, camo and trad. both the camo and trad shot weaker for me. i now use only black.

According to Gold Tips website all of their 3555 arrows are .500 spine.

I read that as weel on their site but have been told that the Trads are actuall around .530

The Trads are spined a little weaker than the black ones,I remember,and the Trads are 8.6gr/in. and the XT's 7.4 if I remember right.Gold Tip.com has all the specs on them too,I believe.

As with most carbons, the .500 is approximate; it may be .480 or it may be .550.  The problem lies in inconsistency from shaft to shaft, rather than model to model.   I've heard from associates that the most consistent are the Easton models.  If I were to shoot carbons, I would darned well want ones that spined the same all around the shaft, and not have soft or hard spots.  That would tell me there was lax quality control in the process.

There ARE differences in spine from shaft to shaft
within the same dozen.  I would think different models would spine each their own.

For what it's worth, I have a three dozen Gold Tip Trads. IMO, they are JUNK!

I cannot believe how much difference there is in weight and spine variation.

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing they are good for would be flu flus or cats.

I have tried other carbons, hands down, Gold Tips SUCK!

I have no beef with Gold Tip, they just make crappy arrows.

I know others will say they love their Gold Tips, but I still say they SUCK!

Traditional Wood Grain shafts are available in two grades, XT, and Hunter.

Which shafts are you comparing?

XT  Trad and Expedition hunter were the 2 I was talking about.

The Traditional XT's have tighter tolerences than the Traditional Hunters.  So, you will not be wasting your money.

So do the trad XTs and the expedition XTs spine the same? Gold tip says they do but I've heard different, and would you happen to know the deflection of a 1916 in compairison?

Over the last 7 years, I've shot the trads, the trad XT and the hunters and I'm now shooting the trad blems.  I've weighed my arrows before going to Africa and had at best a 5 to 7 grain variation between finished shafts inclunding weights, nocks and all the goodies.  If there are some difference in spine or weight, it can't be that much.  And anyways, both my bows and gt are capable of so much more than I can deliver.  If you like em, buy some and indivually spine out each arrow by bareshafting and putting weights up front.  I used to be picky and do just that because I was concerned there may be 1 arrow that spined differently than the rest.  After numerous dozens, I know that all of my 3555 arrows without fail, both hunters, trads and all, need 1 inch taken off the top and 250 grains up front.  My 55/75 are full length with 275 up front.  Bhill
