? regarding Ashby FOC

Just tested my new arrows, GT 1535 cut 28&1/4" from the valley. 100 grain brass adapters and 125 grain heads footed with 2.5" of 2117 total length is 29.5". Weight is 530 grains and FOC is 19%. I left the brass insert out of one and used the factory aluminum insert, this dropped the weight down to 445 grains and my FOC to 15%.
When shooting there is a small ammount of fishtailing on the 530 but the 445 is like a laser beam. I'm only shooting #45 @ my 28" draw and want all the help I can get, so should I stick with the 445 and replace the brass inserts with the aluminum since I'm only loosing 4% foc and 85 grains of mass?

Do not think that is enough to be stressing, good arrow flight is a major key to shootin through em. 445 and 45!

sounds like the heavier arrow is a bit weak in spine. do you have room to shorten it? try cutting 1/4" off the nock end. repeat if still weak. cut less off between testing if you like. carbons stiffen up quick when cut shorter. if you have enough arrow that is what i would do. you'll only lose a few grains in mass. eg, those arrows are somewhere in the 7gr/" range. cutting them half an inch shorter you only lose 3.5 grs. not going to notice it.

if you reach your minimum arrow length and they are still weak you could also try 50gr inserts.
that would mean you have less to cut off before you get to where it will tune.

Don't have any room to cut, only about 1/4" of shaft hanging off now and don't want the broadhead any closer than that.

I would definately just shoot the factory insert that is flying so well then.

I HATE it when I jump to conclusions!    After shooting with Snuffers and Magnus 1 broadheads the heavy shaft is flying great and stacking on top of each other. The lighter shaft is showing a little stiff and planing left. Sorry for the bother   , should have been more patient and tested all the perameters.
