Anyone ever seen one?? Driving home from Church today I had an Albino Hen along with her poults walk across the road right in front of us. I didnt have a camera but we watched her for about 5 minutes.

I have never seen pics or ever even heard of an Albino turkey...anyone?

Also, I have seen the fancy stark white turkeys you see on some farms and this one was more cream colored...not like the stark white farm turks.

I wish I would have had the camera. This one was solid creamy white all the way up to and on the head....no other color at all. Very strange sighting.

Saw an all white turkey in the woods once, while bowhunting in the fall. It stayed in the middle of the flock the whole time.

I thought you warned to stop hunting at the Butterball Turkey Farm.

LOL, yeah...I know but I cant help myself.

I have now read where albino birds are much more common than most species of animal. And there is actually a "Silver" phase of turkey as well....very interesting.

And by the way, this was in the middle of nowhere. No farms even remotely close that I know of.....

RC, man I REALLY need to get back down there. I have been out of the woods for wayy too long. I would like to see the pic as well. It was really cool watching this hen today. The whole family sat on the side of the road after Church just watching her and the poults eating on the side of the road at the edge of the woods.

I've never seen a live one but one of my lodge brothers has one mounted that he took here locally (SE Ky). Strange-lookin critter. I'll try to get a couple pics this weekend. KDFWR declared "open season" on white turkeys (not particularly albino) here so they wouldn't taint the gene pool. Apparently a bunch of domestics were turned loose and they began breeding with the wilds.
The great bow twanged. The black arrow sped straight from the string, straight for the hollow
by the left breast where the foreleg was flung wide. In it smote and vanished, barb, shaft,
and feather, so fierce was its flight.~J.R.R. Tolkien-The Hobbit
