Thinking about doing my own feathers.

What is the deference between the two?

The primaries are the first 7 or 8 feathers on the end of the wing past the elbow. The primaries make better fletch because they're a thicker, tougher feather. I've used the secondaries as well with good results but the feathers don't last as long as primaries.

Good, better, best! Yep, the primaries are best. But like Vince says the secondaries will work also.

speaking of which - are my feathers done yet?  ;)

I use primaries, secondaries, smaller wing feathers and tail feathers, all with good results.
