Rusty: I'm a resident but checked in with two NRs two years ago. One had the NR deer hunting license and was told he didn't have to buy that unless he was hunting Oklahoma deer outside MAAP. The other one just bought a special deer tag at the check in. I know they spent significantly different amounts to do the same thing. But who knows?

See thats what I was wondering about. You've bought the 'hunting license' but its not legal for deer. No matter, since you will buy the appropriate deer tag on-line, if your selected from the random computer drawing, and have it with you at check-in. Well I hope it works that way, I like the idea of NR having an affordable chance to hunt Oklahoma  :bigsmyl:

I just wish more places did trad only hunts, that is really the best quality deer management In my opinion.

To answer the above question, you pay the 5 day NR hunting license just to get a license number as required by the draw. Then if your selected, you go to a link that they provide and purchase a 'real' license for about $200. At least that is the way it was last year.

This year I'm just to show up and buy the license from McAlester when I get there due to having a quality pass.

I 'think' the McAlester license is different than the regular state license.
