arrow help ?

i am currently shooting 2018s and was wondering if i was spined right. my bow is 50@28 but draw around 29.5 so i figure its around 52 or 53 actual weight. any help or input would be appreciated. thanks

I would say that's a bit weak but someone who actually knows will be along shortly. I am shooting 2216's out of a 56@30 recurve. Look up the spine calculator program on here. It's hours of fun.

what kind of bow? is it center cut? You using FF or better string? what is your point weight?

I have 2 BW recurves, one is 53#@28" and the other is 51#@28" and I draw to 29" so around 56# and 54#.

I can shoot 2018@29.5" with a 125gr point, and they fly great. I think they weight in at around 530gr or a little more.

you did not mention if you were shooting a longbow or curve,the curve will shoot a slightly stiffer arrow than even a modern longbow.i will likely get some serious negatives about this,but in my honest opinion,you are overspined,and that arrow is a little heavy for that setup,heavy as in actual arrow weight,about 12.3 grains per inch.i think a 2016 cut 30" with a 125 grain head would be a better choice.that 2018 spines about 464,which is great for a 65/70# bow.imo,better to be just a tad weak,and a tad light,as you can move arrow impact with a little tweaking on brace and string nock placement.regards,robert
