Was out after hogs yesterday and was being dropped off by boat.  Didn't quite make sure the boat was beached before I stepped off the bow, and I deep six'd myself in about 8 foot of water with my backpack on.

My thermacell is strapped to the outside of my pack, and it was totally submerged until I was able to pull myself up on the bank.

Do I need to do take this thing apart to let it air dry? Have I trashed my Thermacell? Is the blue pad worthless now or will it reactivate once its dry?  Right now its opened up and sitting in front of a fan. Going to let it run dry as good as possible before trying to fire it up.

Thanks for any info!

Had mine on my pack for a hog hunt last year, when the skys opened up with a real down pour. It lasted for an hour. I was soaked and my Therma Cell stopped working. After it dried out it fired right up.

Geez Mike... What downpour? I didn't get wet at all on that hunt!!   :D

My brother-in-law took a dunk with his on last year and it worked fine the next day.

Saw some good sign, probably just a day or two old, since grass hadn't yet started to grow over the fresh rooted areas.  Was hard to tell, though, since everything was soppin wet with all the rain we've got!

I agree with Mike.  If they get wet, you need to let them dry out.  Not sure if the pad would still be okay, but it would take awhile to dry out.  I would just have replaced that.  Good luck.  Find some of those hogs for me.  I might be in Oklahoma the 1st week of June.
