Way to stay on it Jim. I thought that is how my day was going to end up looking in, around and under everything in the woods. Thank God for turkey finders with noses, feet and tails that will do that for ya. Great job with the persistence and dedication.

They are some tough critters!  Way to keep after it!  There is a direct corelation between effort and reward!

Thanks everyone, I had the strangest thing happen to me Tues. morning I had a dentist app. so I had time to go out before that and work. I went to the woods and walked in about 30 yards and gave an owl hoot. I had an answer immediately but it was pretty darn close, I thought that if I set up right were I was it wouldn't be great odds getting a shot. I decided to move to my left about 40 yards but this might put me in view of the roosted bird. I started to move to were I figured would be a good spot when a bird flew it sounded light on the take off so I figured it was a hen. A few seconds later two birds dropped nearly straight down one of them was a nice gobbler, so there I am with all my gear watching this bird strutting in front of me about 25 yards out. It was legal shooting time but in the hemlocks it was plenty dark yet, the birds moved off. It just kind of surprised me that they had no clue what was going on. I tried to set up after that but other birds new there was something wrong, a couple of them putted on there exit. I'm going to let them cool down for a few days.
