I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a new bow.....and as a trad noob....I don't even know what I bought....lol.

I know my riser is bocote and granadillo.

Can you give me a quick tutorial on:

1.  Riser overlays?
2.  Action Bamboo (I know this adds speed....but don't much else about it as an "upgrade").
3.  Veneers on my limbs (bocote).

How's this sound?

All good choices, the action bamboo makes a good core wood for limbs. The veneers and riser overlays are just for looks, but they help make a bow beautiful.Sounds like a sharp looking bow.

veneers and overlays are just looks... bamboo can add speed, smoothness, and all around performance.. but i believe some bowyers design use bamboo better than others and some bowyers design use other woods dynamics better...

I came from nothing and I brought it with me.

Sounds like a nice combination. What kind of bow is it???

The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Great bows Jeff. You should love it. How about some picts?

The Bocote veneers will provide some natural camo for you.  The mix of Bocote and Granadillo on the riser will make a great contrast.  RER makes great bows.  I love my 54" Arroyo!

I got a 60inch 45 lb XR back in March, I usually shoot 50 lbs, but the 45 lb XR with the low/medium grip has become a bow I grab about half the time I shoot. congrats on your purchase and good shooting.

Here's a pic of mine Bocote and Bolivian Rosewood riser and Bocote veneers over Action boo limbs.
