Had a great day with my son today, and I just wanted to share it with you all. Shot several bows today with him at the Baltimore Bowman that had a little shoot. Got to shoot with some fine folks including JL and JustAbitOutside.

Had not had a chance to spend a lot of time with my boy these past few weeks, and we both jumped at the opportunity to sling some arrows with each other today.

On the way home, he asked if we could keep shooting in the back yard when we got home. Well..thats like asking a dying man in the desert if he wants some water...I ate it up. I told him he could shoot ANY bow from the collection he wanted to...and as many as he wanted to.

We spent the rest of the day doing just that. We took a break, had a great family dinner, and then he told me he wanted to shoot just one more bow.

I asked which one, and he took me downstairs and pointed to the Holy Grail of my collection. My Dad's bow. The first bow I ever shot some 33 years ago, the one that started it all. He had never shot it because its a bit too heavy for him. That did not stop him this evening. I have to tell you, I have never filled up with so much pride and content. He shot that old Ben Pearson Spectre like he had grown up with it. Dang near made me leak a tear.

It sure put things in perspective, and I want to thank you all for letting me share it with you.

Cool thread.

It all comes down to single moments in our lives that define who and what we are.

Tommorrow, at school, he will be among his friends
and have a confidence within him, because he KNOWS how important he is.

He will feel the same pride and contentment you did, and it will show in his actions.

Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sound like a great day all around. Shooting and eating! Each and every day we all are presented with opportunities to make an impact on someone else's life. You never know what will have a lasting effect and will stay with that person forever. See you in Baltimore! John
