I just bought off a tradgang member a coooks mountain bow its rated 50# at 28" ill. The guy i bought it off of says it scaled at 52 for him at 28 i havent pulled the bow back yet but my draw is 29" at this time i would prefer to shoot carbon or aluminum arrows carbon being my first choice. what would the recommended arrow be  type length and weight. i dont have a huge cash flow to just be buying whatever and playing around with it so i was hoping your advice could get me close on the first try. as always thanks in advance,  Joe Hockensmith

2016's might serve you well with a 125gr point.

Type in 2016 in the search function and highlight shooters forum, a lot of great info in the archives from forum members, 2016s a popular choice.

I'm a 2018 fan!!!
I prefer the extra weight.
I've used the same arrows in my #45 bow as well as my #55 bow all with 125 points.
Just my 2 cents worth.

If you are drawing a true 29" and your bow scales 52 at 28", you should be around 55#. 2016's cut to 30" might work, but they could be a tad weak depending on whether your bow is cut to center or beyond. 2018's at 30" with 125 could be borderline stiff. I'd probably start with the 2016's and go from there.

If you want to try carbons, start with Gold Tip 3555's cut full length and go from there. You'll probably need to add an insert. I use 100 grain inserts with 145 grain heads and add another 125 grains inside (650 grains total). They fly great and penetrate like crazy. That is with my 52# Kanati or my 55# Mahaska or my 49# recurve. They are slower coming out of the latter two bows, but will work. I like heavy arrows!
Kanati 58" 44# @ 28" Green glass on a green riser
Bear Kodiak Magnum 52" 45# @ 28"
Bodnik Slick Stick longbow 58" 40# @ 28"
Bodnik Kiowa 52" 45# @ 28"
Kanati 58" 46# @ 28" R.I.P (2007-2015)
Self-made Silk backed Hickory Board bow 67" 49# @ 28"
Bear Black Bear 60" 45# @28"

I have the same specs as you on all four of my bows and 2016 work well and I hunt with Gold Tip 3555's.
