I am having a couple new bow strings made for my recurve.  I have always used B50 material (flemish) because I was afraid of the fast flight strings and bow damage.  Does this sound logical?  Is the B50 material quieter.  I have to deal with the stretch, but that usually only lastes a few shootings.  I get about 2 yrs of string life before replacing.  Opinions?

If you have a FF compatible bow, I'd say go with a good D97 padded loops from a good string maker.

I have mine made by Bobby Graham or my friend Serge, my bows are extremely quiet, with a strong cast.
I just use wool silencers.

The maker of the bow would be the best one to ask if it is fast flight compatable or not, if it is you would more than likley gain some preformance if you went to FF. I have never used B50 so i cant answer about noise between the two.

Gene,
You'r Stumbo is not built for fast flight stay with the B50.
It would probably throw your shootin' off anyway! LOL
When are you guys having your first shoot?

wtpops - how long have you been shooting?  How long has the new material been out?

I guess I am getting really old.  I have never uses anything but B50 and just now going to make some D97 strings for other folks.

Of course of my 40 some bows, my newest is probably at least 25 years old !

Thanks all for the advise.  Also thanks to Pat.  I have always used the B50, but was just thinking about other materials. Better stick with what I have.

I haven't heard about the shoot dates for Greeley or Ft. Morgan yet.
