When does it end?

Went and got my first bow in 28+ years. Not a great one, but something I can play with until I get what I REALLY want.
My landlord owns a pawnshop and I had told him I wanted to get back into archery, but wanted a longbow. All he had were wheelies. Yesterday he called me and told me he had gotten a recurve in and I should come over and take a look. Well.....ended up as a Martin X150, 55#. Not a top of the line bow, but it had absolutely not even been shot once-no wear anywhere.
Ended up getting it and a brand new Yellow Jacket broadhead target for $200. He let me take them and I'll pay him when I get my tax refund.
But for right now I have something to play with.

Why do I say "When does it end"?

Well, I have a deal in the works with slayer1 to buy his Souther Draw T/D longbow-am sending him his cash this week for it.
And, when things finally come together, I will be getting a custom T/D longbow with a second set of limbs for it.

Of course then I need the arrow making tools, quiver(s), shafts, feathers, point/heads, nocks, and.......you all know what else.

But, ya know what? Lovin' every minute of it!

Trust me, Dave knows!

Welcome to the club. My wife would like to know the answer to that question too. I normally just shrug my shoulders.

It's an awesome addiction.  Better than drugs or booze (although not necessarily cheaper!   :D )

Wait until you get enough to start trading the ones you dont use anymore, then the fun begins. I know all the folks at the post office and the fill in delivery people by their firts names now...  :bigsmyl:

My advice, don't trade or sell any that you have become attached to.  The withdrawls are painful!  I miss some of my pet bows still.

There are others that are bought and sold for fun or profit, but when you let one go that you love, and it hurts, then you know you are hooked!!!

I agree that the Martin X-150 is not a top of the line bow, but as far as looks, I love it and with a room full of bows, I'll be dang if I don't find myself picking up the Martin most every time I head out. It has turnsd into my favorite shooter. Just an excellent all around bow with a small investment. With that new Yellow Jacket, you got quite a deal.

I started out shooting a used X-200. I think for the money it is a good bow. I liked the grip and how it shot. Good bow!

Man, enjoy the journey! I been on it for over thirty years and still can't get enough. I not be liking all the super dry conditions around here in the Panhandle but it sure is letting me shoot a bunch more this winter than normal. When you get into building arrows, never do you seem to have enough. I had over 300 I built here awhile back, gave a bunch to my son and guess what I been doing. Ha! Never enough bows either it seems. Then there's tabs and gloves and ............................ Enjoy the moment.

Already bought a dozen arrows, ordered another dozen because I didn't care for the ones I first bought-aluminum, ordered some carbons. Gonna drive up to Springfield this weekend (100+ miles) so I can get to a bigger archery store than I have available to me here. Need to get a few things that I can't find here.

May be better than drugs......DEFINITELY not cheaper though!   :biglaugh:
