I had what I thought was an unusual thing happen to me this weekend.  My son in law ,John, and I went to our deer lease in Tilden Tex. for the final weekend of buck season hoping to fill another tag.  I did not have a buck show himself but a nice fat doe did and after awhile I decided the meat would be great.  She was at about 17 or 18 yds. and I took the shot thru a shoot thru screen in my blind.  The arrow did not seem to fly right and she decided to do a belly dirt bath and dropped like a pair of cheap socks.  I saw my arrow hit her high.  Realllllly high.  She was twisting down and the shaft did not go thru.  I saw her run off with it hanging by the fletch.  Realllllly high.  I was distraught at the shot but waited the right amount of time watching about 40 turkey hens with no beards scratching any possible sign away then started looking.  3 hours and no blood no arrow.  Went to town later for groceries and when we returned John said "somewone found your doe" .  There was part of my arrow and a note saying an adjoining lease member had found my deer and left a ph #.  I called and they said they would bring it right back to me.  They brought the doe over and said they had found it not dead at 1 pm.  I shot her at 7-15 AM.  The finished her off with a rifle shot to the neck and brought her back.  I know this has been long winded but I just wanted to share with you this story of a couple of good guys.
Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

You sure dont find many folks like that today most would have just loaded her up and had fresh deer meat for supper.

Nice to know you have honest folks around.

If that was my neighbors, they would have had fresh deer for supper, like they've done with two of my dad's bow deer.
