Great Plains T/D longbow-thoughts/comments?

I know there are quite a few bowyers in here-wish I could buy one of everything you guys make. I'm sure you all make great bows, and I've probably looked at what you offer in my quest for a longbow. However, for whatever reason, I have been drawn to GP's T/D LB. Can't explain WHAT/WHY that is so.....fate? kismet? (yeah, I know fate=kismet)but their bow just seems to hit me somehow.
But I would like some feedback from anyone who has had some experience with their bows. If you've read my post "Got to shoot" you'll know it's been a buncha years since I've shot bow, and this is the first time I will lay out that kind of $'s for a custom bow.

So I really would appreciate what you all have to report about them. I've met some of you and trust your comments because anyone who spends time in here are true bowmen and know their stuff.

can't help with that bow but GP TD recurve I had was a great shooting bow. not much help I know.

I have a 64" Great Plain 3 piece longbow in my collection with 2 sets of limbs. 1 set is 55# @ 28 with Bacote veneers and the second are 60# and Bamboo. It is a Great Bow! Stable very high craftsmsnship, very pretty to look at and extremely fast. It may be the bow I choose for my Bear Hunt in 2010 with homer Ocean Charters in Alaska. I'm thinking of it over several other high end T/D longbows I have, as I'll be able to eliminate taking a "back-up bow" for I will have the spare set of limbs [ just in case ]. I recommend them highly.

I had the GP one piece tokin cane longbow several years go it was very fast and stable for such a light weight bow. Craftmanship was also very high all through the bow.Personaly I think GP makes great bows and they are unrated by many people who have never tried one.

I had one for several years and let it go in a moment of weakness. Sounds like Gene may have ended up with it. Good bows and Bill is great to work with.

I have a GP recurve, excellent craftmanship, it's fast, and draws smooth as butter.

I have had two of the recurves. The craftmanship was flawless and the performance was top of the line. I`ve never shot the longbows he makes but I`d bet they would be worth the money. I understand he makes the T-Hawks for three rivers.RC

I also have two recurves built by Bill and Co. Great bows--- shoots as good as it looks. Craftsmanship is topnotch and I would guess that his longbows would be the same. Bill and his wife are great people.

Thanks all for your inputs, much appreciated. When I got to shoot some longbows (that weren't made be GP) I found those enjoyable and pleasant to shoot. It's just a personal preference/quirk/whatever that is taking me to GP's bow. I will say, as a thumbs up to the maker, I had an opportunity to shoot a Striker which was a 42#@28"-62" AMO, not sure of the model, (probably 47+# at my draw)and was surprised at the authority at which it launched the arrow, felt like more than a 42# would do it. Good bow guys.
