Pretty high priced for an early Polar.bd

Sounds a little high, but it might be a good shooter!  My wife loves hers!

I have a Polar that is a 1959, guy had it for sale at a flea market for $80. Went back a few hours later and offered his wife $40, she took the deal. 64" 45lbs. In good condition. Great shooting bow.
I will have to check the collector's forum to see how much it is truly worth.

I paid $38 plus shipping for my 50# Polar on the 'bay a couple years ago. Nice fast bow. We trad folks are the only market for such bows and lots of them were made.

My first Bear was a polar - that was in 1966.  I would gues it to have been a 50's model.  It was 38# so I graduted up (traded) for a Bear Kodiak Magnum of 48" so I could hunt. It delaminated about 10 years later.

I now wish that I had never sold a bow (or gun) that I ever had.  They just don't make them like they used to - in many cases they don't make them at all.

Bear bows are still available, but overpriced in my book.  I also buy them to shoot, not to hang on walls, so I go for functionality not collector value.
