Does anyone here know the correct Brace Height of the Damon Howatt Black Mamba?   Also is the Brace Height on this bow measured from the center of the shelf or the deepest part of the bow grip? (I did the latter and its just really loud, 7.5")  Also what is the correct string length for this bow.  I tried to contact the Martin tech but he hasn't been in for a week due to bad weather.

Brace is 7" to 7.75", measured from the throat of the grip. The old spec was 7.25" to 8". That is a 58" AMO, string can be ordered that way or rule of thumb is 4" shorter than AMO length for recurve, 3" shorter for longbow. There may be revised specs for brace, might want to look into that, or somebody will chime in here. What are you using for a string? Some of the bows I have are really loud with correct brace using certain strings.

Toklat1

B-500 Flemish twist string that someone made for me. String length is 53".  At 7.5" the release is really loud!

I just lowered the Height from 7.5" down to 7" and that did the trick. Quieted down quite a bit and still shoots good groups. Thanks Carter.

mine works great at 7 3/4

Yes, beaver fur silencers.  I will probably go to the Bow Hush. I understand it works very well.
