I have done several including deer , rabbit and coyote and all with excellent results. If you do a really good job of skinning and getting off all the "meat" you can skip to step 5.
I found this recipe many years ago in an old book, but then lost it. I got wondering around on the Internet a couple of years back and found it again. I have a coyote hat with the face on it that is now 25 yrs old.
You can "break" the hide as per the instructions but if I were making a quiver I think I would leave it stiff.

just skin it out and salt it. after 24 hours, shake off the salt and resalt it. you can then send it at your on leisure as it will keep for years in a dried state, especially in cold climates. plus it will be heaps cheaper to send and process because it will be less bulky and lighter. however prolonged time salted can have detremental effects in some cases (many years). if you don't know how to skin it it pays to learn as thats part of the hunting experience. IMHO.
