Anybody tried one.  They look like they would be sweet if you hunt from the ground or in a popup.

John made me one in 2001. It was a good shooter, but your hand gets brushed by the feathers a little every now and then.
A trophy is in the eye of the beholder.

I have one. They shoot really good for such a short bow. Mine is 43# and it starts to stack past 28" but it is very smooth to that point. I haven't had any problems with feathers hitting my hand but I shoot left wing feathers and that usually takes care of that.

They are surprisingly stable for such short bows. They are not speed demons but they do shoot well. If you like short they are worth a close look. The all phenolic risers give them some decent "heft" and make them more shootable then most other shorties.
The best things in life....aren't things!

Thanks for the info guys.  I think I may have found my next purchase if I can scratch up the coin.
