I have a Bear Kodiak Hunter 50# AMO 60" I have learned that I need a 56" string will   THIS  do the trick?

TradOnly

Yes, from what I've been told.  The string should be 4" shorter than the bow on a recurve and 3" for a longbow.
Martin Savannah Longbow 50# @ 29"
Martin Savannah Stealth 55# @ 28"
Griffin Takedown 52# @ 28"

Thanks for the link, those are some nice looking strings.

Killdeer

Hmm...I thought 3Rivers was a sponsor.
You are on the right track, though. B-50 and about 4" shorter than the AMO length of the bow.
