Its the simplest things that are consider great ideas. I never thought of this. Thanks

Gingivitis, just use a seat cushion on it.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I used the long strap of a ratchet strap with mine and it dosent stretch and the extra width helps to grip the tree.

I left a few notes on mine in previous forum's, but let me add this.  The other day a buddy and me went out hunting, he had his trusty bucket (you can get alot in a bucket and comfy).  I had my Torges seat, he laughed at first, till about mile later when he started saying a few things to the bucket, ha-ha.  When we got to the spot, it was on a little hill side and he searched and dug out a flat spot for the bucket, I watched and giggled at him, finally after he was set up, he looked at me and said aren't you going to get ready.  I took the seat off, looped it around a nice tree tied the knot, adjusted and minute later sat down looked at him and said Ready.  he was amazed.  when we got back home, he asked and in 30 minutes he had one.  Great Invention Dean, forever hold your name.

Minuses:
* it feels like sitting on a hard board with sharp edges and makes bits of my anatomy fall asleep or hurt like crazy.
* it is loud (IMO) to set up / tear down.
* did I mention that it hurts me... south of the equator?
A layer of carpet stapeled on the seat elimintates the sharp edges and hard spots at least for me anyway!

I just made three for me and my buddies heading to IL next weekend.  Will use stands mostly but for the times when the wind is not right for the stands this seems like a great option.  I am looking forward to trying it but am really looking forward to hunting IL.

My Dad and I cleaned out our garages and made up 17 seats from odd plywood scraps. We went with 18" x 18" for size, keyhole knot lock, and 1/4" nylon rope. Then we camo'd them with odd left over paint.

Cheap enough to give away to family and friends.
