what is the difference with straight left or right??  Is there any at all or just personal preference?

Smallwood

with straight clamps, you can use left or right wing feathers.
if you use a left helical clamp, you have to use left wing feathers.
when they talk about left wing or right wing...
it really means that the feather actually came off the left wing or right wing of the bird.
hope this helps.

JDice

IMHO - as long as you use the same wing for all the fletching on a given arrow and the wing used matches the bevel of the single bevel broadhead on the arrow (if a single bevel BH is used) - the choice of wing is personal preference.

Paul WA

If you shoot right handed, left wing feathers wont cut your hsnd if you hold close to the arrow and vice versa for lefties. Most of the straight fletch shooters I know use them for competition only..PR
