Who besides Fred Echler has completed the grand slam with a recurve?  :)

Actually i think it is called a "super slam" and Rick Duggin was the first with traditional gear...i think he used a Wapiti recurve...

I have..... almost.    :D

I'm only missing 21    :D   But I'm not worried.  At the rate I'm going, I'll only be 212 years old when I take number 28.

The Super Slam is all 28 NA big game animals.  The Grand Slam would be all 4 species of sheep(Desert Bighorn, Rocky Mountain Bighorn, Dall, and Stone sheep) I know three for sure: Paul Schaefer, Fred Eichler, Rick Duggin   Pretty cool stuff!

Tom Teitz and Nathan Andersohn (longbow) too for a Grand Slam.  I think Nathan may have the Super too but am not sure.

Jack Shanks

Wayne Depperschmidt also has taken the four species of North American sheep with a longbow I believe.

Thanks for all the great replys! Was curious because of a recent book release called "BAREBOW",I ran accross in the new bowhunter mag.,it states that a man named Dennis Dunn is the first to take all 29 species,[29th being the tule elk]with a barebow and no sights.
Wondered if this is correct? Anyways would be cool if Echler, and Duggins would also write their memoirs. Make for great fireside reading this winter. Keep em sharp,Bowtough.

I think it's 27 now, used to be 28 species.

Polar Bear were removed from the super slam.  Rick Duggan and Fred Eichler are the only 2 all-traditional slams I know of in recent years.  There are some bowhunters that have slams which are partially traditional and partially compound.

Guys, only Nathan has completed the grand slam of sheep with a longbow, and he is well on his way to having the super slam, but has a few more to go.  No one has documented the super slam with a longbow yet, but Rick and Fred did so with recurves.

There have been a number of recurve grand slam of sheep taken.
