I have a beautiful T/D recurve from a very prominent bowyer.  It is cocobolo riser, cocobolo veneers, and shedua accents.  After owning it for four months, I had a small piece of fiberglass pop-up on the belly side of the recurve and the bowyer promply replaced it.  The guy was not the friendliest about the warranty work, but he replaced it and the new limbs are even prettier than the originals.  I have had the new limbs several months and notice there are 5 or 6 small cracks in the veneers of both limbs running perpendicular to the limbs.  the cracks are all about 8 or 9 inchest from the riser on limb faces and are about 1/8-1/4" long.  The bow shoots great and I don't really want to send it back again.  I think the guy will blow a gasket this time.  What should I do?

I'd tell him about it.  That's just me...Mike

If it is a short bow, and you have a longer draw, maybe you are over stressing the limbs.

Who cares if he blows a gasket! You are the customer and not his Quality Control department.
Don't let him push you around, if he is indeed a 'prominent bowyer' he will want you to be satisfied.

always go back to the maker and or but make sure you dothank him for his past help. Tell him that it seems you are still having a problem and could he please take a look at the limbs for corrective action.Make sure you also tell him that you always use a bow stringer and what your draw is so he does not think you are at fault for the limb issues. It he plans to stay in business he will I am sure want to take correctives action so his product does not get a name for having quality problems. The end resuslt is that the end user is the customer and he I am sure will want to make you Happy.

You gave him your hard earned money.  He should be made aware of the limb problems you are having.
