Did anyone hunt the traditional only Canyon Creek hunt this year? If you did how was it? What is it like over there? I was thinking about going and taking a look at it next year. Is it even worth scouting it?

WINDTALKER

Well I was supposed to this year but was swindled into working at the mother-in-law's during opening week. Rumor has it though from my friends its the place to go. I've got a coyote hunt planned later this year over that way hopefully I can make time to scout the area because come hell or mother-in-law I'm going next season

I have heard from someone who lives over that way that you have to get on the elk early or they head right for the ranches and safety.

I have heard about the same thing as Snag.  Also they really pick up and run when someone blows on a bugle.  Do some scouting, very nice country.

Do you guys know if we can deer hunt in there at that time and if we can are there any deer in there?

snag

Andy, yes you can hunt bucks during the same time as the trad. elk is on. But the deer population is not good. I don't think you should expect to see really good numbers or quality of bucks in there.
