My first custom bow..

Man, I tell ya'...good stuff just keeps happening to me. A mere 16 1/2 hours before I arrow my first  traditional deer, I take delivery of this. (I didn't get my first trad deer with this, I want to spend some more time getting to know her before I take her on a date      )  

Here it is.

60" Black Creek Banshee, R/D longbow, 47#@28".

Solid Brazilian rosewood riser, action-boo cores, stunning curly maple limb laminations under clear glass, Ebony tips over woven black glass.

Jim Gainey of Black Creek bows in Alabama is an incredible craftsman, and an absolute pleasure to do business with. The bow turned out EXACTLY as I had pictured it in my mind. It is smooth as silk and draws like butter.

I searched for a year and a half for a bowyer who would work with me the way I wanted AT a price that was affordable to me. I am very fond of some of our sponsors bows, but most of them I am not in a position to employ. I came across Jim Gainey's name through  our fine sponsor John at Sipsey River, and after we spoke, I knew it was a deal I had to do.

Man did I make the right move. Don't get me wrong, other bowyers could have helped me, and I have talked to several. I just could not find a better value for getting exactly what I wanted. I have also shot a ton of other customs, and this affordable Banshee will hold its own with most any ones, and flat out put some others to shame.

All I know is, I am more than pleased with my first custom bow. I would suggest to anyone to give Jim at Black Creek Bows a call fast before his prices go up. His bows will no doubt be on the hot list very soon.

As far as his turnaround time, I ordered this bow at Denton Hill at the end of July!! It is now in my hands.

Jim does make a really nice bow. Worth far more than he charges for them. Better get your order for one in now before his prices go up to match the quality of these bows. He has told me he's going to raise the price very soon to offset his increased costs for materials.
I'm sure they will still be at a good price for the work he does. I've seen bows that cost nearly twice what he charges that his will beat in workmanship and performance.
