I cannot believe those kids did that. That bucket would be absolutley useless if the arrow were to hit it. Man if those were my kids.....

yep. animals have died that were blunted "for fun". and that exploding arrow..there's a recipe for problems with your homeowners insurance!

if you let your kids see these,make sure you include the line about "what were the redneck's last words?" -answer "hey,y'all, watch THIS!!!!!!"

there are several others there that came up as well that show high speed photography of arrows at release which ar MUST SEE videos for the folks here. So you think your arrow just travels straight away ? Watch those vids!

LOL - I remember very well, when I did my own experiments with explosive tips and powder filled shafts :D I came up with the idea even before Rambo did

And of course, I made sure nobody would get hurt - besides the tree shot at. It took the bark right off ...!

That Wilhelm Tell stupidity is a lot worse IMO - arrrgh! I think, I have to talk seriously to my own sons about this.

The Willaim Tell vid is suspect IMO... You see the shot, but the apple is hit from a close angle.. I'd have to see the whole sheebang at once to believe it.. Why did they even bother with a bucket.

On the first video, at the end there was a video titled something like "Robin Hood, Myth Busters Busted". The only problem is they shot what appeared to be carbon arrows. Myth Busters shot wood arrows as did Robin Hood. However, Myth Busters could be busted! Just shoot Hexshafts!

Yeah, the apple sequence is staged, but still scary. There are idiots out there dumb enough to actually try it. I remember reading a year or so ago, a fella in his early 20s took an arrow in the head in just such a stunt. He lived without further brain damage. I say further because he had to have been marginal to begin with.
