Broken thread stem in HIT insert...Help

I was shooting today and my broadhead got lodged in something and when I went to pull it out I broke the thread stem in half.  

So now I got the broadhead out but part of the stem w/ the threads is still screwed into the HIT insert on my axis arrow.  I was curious how I would go about getting it out?

I'm waiting to hear an answer on this one...I have a couple like that myself.  No way to get an easy out or punch down in there.

My only guess from trying it once(successfully) myself is attaching a very small drillbit to your electric drill,put it in reverse and hope it gets a good enough grip to pull er' out.Others probably have a better way,but here's what I've tried.

Not having used the hit insert, i'm guessing (from diagram I just looked up)i would just put a field point in and slowly heat on stove until glue softened and I could remove.  Then use that little bit as NTT mentioned and drill in from the rear position. This should screw the piece right out the front once the bit starts to bite.

Like I said, haven't used the insert before so my advice is probably worth what you paid for it.  :D

I had this happen the other day as well,I used a thin piece of tig welding wire(wire coat hanger might work too) with a ground point and unscrewed the broken adapter thread right out of the insert.take the wire and push down and stir to the left right along the inside diameter of the carbon shaft. the friction of the wire should over come the friction of the thread.push down hard on it and lefty loosy it came out.

Dead Bolt if there are any machinest in the town where you live seeif they might have a LEFT HANDED drill bit and ease out set .(too many years of bikin and being a working stiff teaches ya a bunch of tricks.)
