I like to wear wool when its cold, and currently have some Colombia wool pants, and jacket. I was eyeing up the Stormy Kromer jacket/vest combo, and a hat as well.. Anyone have any insite on these??

The hat is great. Light weight but very warm. I remember my grandfather wearing one in the early 50's. Got one as a gift and love it.
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

there flannel shirts are very worm.  I have caught a lot of fish and killed a lot of critters wearing it.

I had a conversation with one of the kromer dealers and he said the jackets tend to run on the small side so if possible you should try one on before you buy it.

Rusty in Fla.

I read a short story about the Stormy Kromer cap cap just last week.
It seems Stormy was a railroad engineer who invented the cap that bears his name as a means of having a cap that would stay on his head while the winter winds were whipping through the cab of his locomotive. the first ones were  hand made, then they progressed on to a factory of their own. Years later they stopped making the Stormy Kromer caps and started making welding caps. I know at my local welding supply shop when you buy a welding cap from them it's still referred to as a Kromer cap.
If you're gonna be stupid, ya gotta be tough.
