Bow just a bit heavy

I have a 70# recurve that I like a lot but that last inch or so before anchoring is getting more difficult. Is there any way to reduce a bow's draw weight by a few pounds to make it more tolerable. Would a higher or lower brace height help or a different type of string? Just curious...

Mike:
The bowyer that built the bow can  probably reduce the weight a few # ask him.

Put a longer string on the bow or reduce brace heigth.  The bow may make more noise but this will give you an inch or so to work with.

Droptine69 is a sponsor here and does bow weight reduction services.  Might want to talk with him if things don't work out with the bowyer (though the guy who built is is the best first contact)

Another one of our sponsors, Ted Fry @ Raptor Archery, just reduced the weight on one of my TD longbows - he did a great job, including the refinish.
