Anyone know if I could pick something up at a hardware store or Lowe's ? For the time being I'm using a mini tube cutter to cut a few shafts. And having a dickens of a time getting my inserts in. Arrow size is 2016 if that helps at all for diameter tool.

Any help on what to pick up is GREATLY APPREACIATED. Eventually going to pick up the mini cut off saw.
THANK YOU,
Mike

MJB,

I use my case deburring tool, from my metallic cartridge reloading equipment.
If you can't source one of these, a counter sinking drill bit, used gently, by hand, would work, or a repairmans reamer (a tapered reamer) that many tool outlets carry would work too.

Do you have to register a case deburring tool in Canada?  ;)
That's what I use, too.

Lyman used to sell a kit. I haven't seen it in a while.
One thing that will help you when cutting arrows is to tighten the tool very slowly. This will prevent collapsing the shaft so much and help with putting in inserts without a deburring tool.

What Kevin said. Use very little pressure on the cutting wheel, and lots of turning. This gives a very clean cut, and leaves very little burring on the inside of the shaft.

Killdeer, that will coming soon, I'm sure. Too many Canadians swallow that pap that the government knows what is best for us. Your Supreme Court justices, on the other hand, just gave the "anti's" a very hard, if not swift, kick to the gonads.    At least your Second Amendment rights are safe, for now.

Case deburring toll, or a fine file, square across the end.. Actually the "Square" end helps against splitting the shaft when shooting hard objects

ive found there to be minimal difference in using a countersink and the G5 tool
Silence over speed.  Heavier arrows never hurt.

I've yet to find anything that works better than an RCBS Case Deburring Tool.  Just a light turn and the inserts go in slick as a whistle.  I square the cut shaft up with a G5 Tool...
