whats your impression of this bow? plus and minus? better with leather grip or w/o? any quiver suggestions?

i like the beavertail grip.  The bow is lightweight, the quality is excellent, and the bowyer (Abe Penner) is a good man to work with.

Funny you should post this. DEAN'S  brother Tom Shalvis mailed me his to check out. It's the Diamond riser model ,beaver grip,fancy veneers. I don't know the exact woods maybe he'll chime in later . I believe this was a 825.00 bow when Tom ordered it. I can honestly say this bow out of all the bows I have shot is probably the easiest to shoot. The workmanship is unbelievable, it's fast, quiet,and very accurate. I know the base Featherhorn is 650 now.If I had the cash I would order one definately, I don't now about the diamond series riser,fancy veneers, beaver grip etc,etc,.But then again would it shoot any better than the base model? Hope I helped.

As bentpole(THEPOPE) says they are a great shooting bow fast and hit where you look.EASY ON THE EYES TO.Craftmanship second to none!!!!The beavertail grip is a plus in my opinion.Abe is a great guy to deal with and a true craftman in the bowyer world.His bows are as good as any bow made

I second all the above.
I've shot dozens of bows at trad shows, but I chose this as my first and only trad bow and have no regrets.

In its first year it went 2 for 2 and I hope to add to the tally this year.  I chose it for its lightweight and smoothness.  A very pleasant shooting experience and the beavertail handle is superior to all.

As far as minuses, for myself, on an offday I think a locator grip like his other models have could be helpful, but it still shoots quite well enough for me.

I have owned two or three and they are outstanding bows as are his recurves and his Silver Fox td longbow. You will not go wrong with any of Abe's bows.

i use a strap on Kanati Bow Quiver sold by Kustom King on my Peregrine Cari-Bow.  i like the extra weight it gives me.

I liked the beaver tail grip and also how pretty the bow Bentpole had was. It was also a very quiet bow and it shot well for me when I tried it. It seemed to like cedars with about 225 grains up front.

I had a 62" and would really like another someday. However, would prefer a 64" plus for my longer draw.

Not saying 62 is too short, I just prefer longer limbs FWIW.

It is one of the bows I regret selling.  :\\
