I've heard that some of you guys make your own arrow shafts from just wood.
How do you do this?
Is it difficult?
Do you need special equipment?
How would the Native Americans do it? Or were their shafts just not very straight or smooth...

I tried making one of my own from a maple sapling but it didn't turn out so good, the wood doesn't straighten out very well either.

Thanks,
Bakes
