Was thinkin about buying a Cheyenne or Kodiak Magnum. But wanted some input about both before deciding. I know the Cheyenne is a little longer but what else is there different. How are they as far as shooting. Is there any hand shock. How are they as far as hunting from treestands. Any things u guys dont like about them. Any info is much appreciated.

Send me a Cheyenne and I'll test it against my K-mag I promise to post the results...

Seriously, My K-Mag is super sweet for my 26.5" draw. Never shot a Cheyenne, but I'd not turn down the chance.

I've wanted to shoot a Cheyenne for quite a while now. I'm just not willing to purchase one first to accomplish that goal.

K-mag is 52 inches and the Cheyenne is 56 inches if I remember correctly.  Your draw length should be a factor in the selection.  If it's short, say 25-26 inches or so, the K-mag might work best.  At 27-28 inches, the 56-inch bow would probably feel smoother and give less finger pinch.

K-Mag is 52".....Cheyenne is 55" which is an "odd" size.

It might be a problem if you need to buy a "stock" string in a pinch.
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

I have shot several of both models. I have always been a K Mag fan, but when the Cheyenne came out, it became my favorite. I think it is one of the best they have ever made.

It looks to me like the grip and riser is a little different on the Cheyenne, is a little thinner than the K-mag?

Not sure about the Cheyenne, but I sure like my son's KMag.  My draw is 29" and his is a bit longer but if that bow is pinching, we aren't sophisticated enough to detect it.  :-)

It's smoooooth.

Finger pinch comes from an acute string angle and is the act of the fingers pushing together at full draw.  It isn't always that noticeable and some folks just get used to it.  I shot a 52" bow for years and really enjoyed it....shot it accurately too.  They aren't made for shooting field rounds or FITA tournaments though and that should be a no-brainer.

I really like the Kodiak Magnum for a hunting bow and I'm sure the Cheyenne would be a great one as well.  With the K.M., you can sit under a brush pile and still shoot well.  We don't have those wide open spaces here in the eastern forests.

Shot a Cheyenne for a couple years... great bow!  Can't complain about much of anything on it.  In the end the only reason I sold it was to continue to finance building my own bows.  K mags are great too, but I think the cheyenne would be my pick, little smoother (due to the length?) and I like the looks (as if that matters!)
