Do I have to seal the coco before I glue it up? What preparations should I make besides scuffing it?

Lytic

Never glued it up for a bow, but when I deal with it in a knife handle I like to use part/brake degreaser, then follow that with 90% isopropyl-ROH.
If you're not first you're last

Rigs

I've useed cocobolo in numerous bows and have good luck cleaning it really well with acetone.  I usually wipe it with acetone until the color stopped coming off on the rag...

Just remember to wear gloves and use acetone in a well ventilated area...

Happy hunting,
Jason
