What dip do you use , how do you prepare your arrows and what glue do you use?  Guess that covers it. I was going to use Fletch tite but its too humid outside and stinks too bad inside and I need to get some arrows fletched up and looking for an alternative dip.
Thanks

What shafts are you making the arrows out of? Wood, aluminum, carbon...?

Here's my "recipe":

For the crown, I use Krylon Fusion (made for plastics), or a spray automotive lacquer. I crest with Testor's model car paint, then spray 3 coats of Polycrylic (water based poly) to proctect it all.

I fletch with Fletchtite Platinum (preferred) or Duco.

This has worked well on carbons. For aluminums, I would definately use the spray lacquer for the crown, as it seems to bond better.

I agree, krylon makes a series of paints that work very well.  If you have an "AirBrush" auto lacquer looks best that way.  Go to a Craft Store and get some Paint Pens,  they come in various colors, they are easy to use for your crest.  You can find them in fine, or bold.

Regarding fletchtite, the Platinum works great on most every type of paint I have used.  You can use the superglue fletch glues, or the tape. I have had mixed sucess with regular fletchtite, as long as you use a poly clear coat.

I perfer to use a clear satin poly spary over the crow and crest to protect them, and to tone them down a bit so they don't reflect light so much.

Just a note,  the wraps, while I use them from time to time, never look as good as a good set of dipped and crested arrows. They are pretty heavy, and can adversely affect the dynamic spine of your arrows.  The paint is generally lighter in weight, and therefore has less effect on the spine.  I mention this as it is generally an item overlooked.

Sherwin Williams prduction lacquer is another good choice for dipping.  Crest with Whispering Wind cresting paint, glue up with duco.

What Badger said. That stuff will stick to anything! I have used it on carbons successfully too. It doesn't wear off when shooting them either.

All the above works great.  I find the paint pens, to be great when cresting.  Love my dip system.  I stay my shafts, let them dry.  Dip three times.  then I crown with kyrlon spray paint, khaki camo, love it from old marine days.  Then I crest.  Then I seal it with three more coats of dip.

Crown dip I've used Bohning products for 20 years and never had any issues.
Just like the others have said, cresting paints from Whispering Winds work well. His crestor is by far the best I have ever used. Easy and fast.
