Well after years of use my old 3d target is no longer serviceable. I even did a repair on it several times with factory foam which gave me a few more years. Its time to replace it and was wondering in your experience which 3d foam target do you prefer for quality, longevity and affordability.

Thanks

I like quality and longevity over affordability.

So what do you recommend for him?

They're pricey, but as far as quality goes you're not going to beat Rhinehart. Occasionally you can find them for discounted prices and such.
Plus you can always buy a new insert as opposed to replacing the whole target when its worn out.

I like the Rinehart 3d targets.. I just replaced mine. Purchased a Jimmy Big Tine Blem from the Rinehart Outlet. I've had several. Keeping them out of direct sun helps them last longer. If you are shooting field points with a trad bow, the insert will take a few thousand arrows before you start shooting through it. I don't think any of them will last very long if you practice a lot with broadheads. The Rinehart 18-sided target does pretty well with broadheads.

I don't have much to compare them to, but I have a Rinehart Big Jim.  I shoot it daily with a mix of field points and broadheads.  I have 2 cores for it and when one is shot, I wrap it in plastic wrap and pump it full of great stuff big gap filler, and just keep rotating.  In the long run, I may be spending more on gap filler than I would a new core, but dropping ten bucks for a couple cans of foam at the local home improvement store doesn't hurt as bad as buying a new core.
